Despite the extreme heat and WIND, the 2004 Spring Golf Outing was again very successful.  35 new members joined MSES during the SGO - a new record!!  Winning the "Most New Members Recruited" prize, Mike Turner sponsored four new members!  We were also able to give away a ton of money, golf balls, and other stuff because of the generosity of our sponsors.  Because of the fantastic popularity and success of this event, next year we are looking into a couple options that would allow us to accommodate everyone who is interested - stay tuned!

2001 Events:
FALL OUTING, September 12-14, 2001 at Madden's, was very successful for fund-raising, but we were all affected by our nation's tragedies.

Tom Parker was our industrious Chair and Co-Chair Dale Grove was stuck in Seattle.  (Many others were also kept away from the Outing, trapped in cities across the country.)

Golf, bocce ball, cribbage, fishing, shuffleboard, jarts, trap-shooting, and tennis were the sports of the day(s).  The weather was beautiful until Friday morning showers (but not enough to keep everybody off the courses!)
A new raffle, called the Art-Techno Raffle, was a hit.  Steve Harvey was in charge of getting electronic items: a GPS receiver, digital camera, Palm VIIX with SmartPad, DVD/CD player, and two Les Kouba framed prints.  We look forward to next year, Steve!
The Gun Grab icons, John, Steve & Craig Hrkal, were missed!  (They were in Canada hunting this year.)
The Thursday night Banquet could have been better attended, but those of us who came got a great meal and great door-prizes.  (For those wondering about the Madden's Weekend Prize, it will be awarded at the Annual Meeting in February.)
