Age 80, of St. Paul, passed away quietly May 17, 2006. A veteran of WWII he served in Europe as a member of the 294th Field Artillery Observation Battalion before returning to the University of Minnesota where he earned a Bachelor of Civil Engineering Degree in 1949. Following several years of working for the Minnesota State Highway Dept. he joined the Walter Butler Construction Co. and later the Carlson Companies where he played a significant role in the renovation of the Minaki Lodge in Canada, Kansas City's Muhlenberg Hotel, Southwest State College, and the new Federal Court Building in St. Paul, retiring in 1988. Preceded in death by parents, Nathan and Rose; brothers, Hyman (Hy) and David (Doots) and special friend, Phyliss Black. Survived by nephew, Eddie (Sally) Love and niece, Naomi (David) Beck (CA); sister- in-law, Mindy Love (CA); several grandnieces and grandnephews; friends, Ken and Joyce Madole, John and Pat Strojan, the Birthday Club - Jo Zimmar, Lou Shaughnessy, Len Pegler, Phyllis Bigbee, Tom and Pam Mariska; friend, Sue Adamek, and many relatives and cousins.
